If I receive any this side of the pond they will be considered as delivered
under the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971 and it will be up to the USPO
to arrange collection.
Mind you, in 2003/4 I received a Christmas card my mother had posted whilst
visiting relatives on the other side of the pond in USA - it had been posted to
someone else in USA with her this side of the pond return address. It had a
"Return to Sender" label attached requiring an additional 12 cents
postage (nonmachinable surcharge) to be affixed - for some reason the UKPO was
rather reluctant to accept it with an additional 12 cents.
I don't know how cross border postage costs are arranged between countries, but
I suspect that returning the Christmas card trans-pond probably cost more than
the required extra 12 cents.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
