By that logic, the isolation of Aluminum from Aluminum Oxide means that Aluminum
is patentable.

But they didn’t discover what it does - the sequence TELLS you exactly what it
does chemically in or out of the genome.
This is a bit like cutting a word out of a dictionary and claiming you invented
it.
And there’s 20,000 or so other sections of the human genome that do different
things - our hell, patent trolls heaven.
They are, whether they know it not, telling a massive untruth.
