It's all about public perception. I recently was part of a team that designed a
2.4/5G Wireless AP/STA for a large European broadcaster. When we gave them
initial samples, they complained that the unit was 'too light' and that people
would think it was cheap and flimsy (it was cheap, but that's another story !).
They actually asked us to put a thick steel plate in the unit, underneath the
PCB to make it heavier. We pointed out to them the repercussions of putting a
large steel plate within 30mm of the 3 aerials in the unit, but they insisted.

If real magic exists, it wouldn't be believed if there was no show or effort
involved. People expect something great to be difficult and disbelieve if there
isn't enough flash in the presentation. Scary stuff when you have a simple
button that can distroy the Universe, no one would believe it until it's too
late.
