Blunt's bribery -- free speech
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, April 11 2013 @ 12:18 PM EDT
It's legal to bribe politicians in the U.S. The Supreme Court calls it free
speech. Money is speech. So, in the U.S., bribing politicians enjoys
constitutional protection. Is this true in any other country in the world?

Judge says Apple, Motorola pursuing business strategy in court
The court said it declines to "mop up a mess" of multiple claims and patents

April 11, 2013, 4:43 AM — A court in Florida said that Apple and Motorola Mobility have no interest in quickly and efficiently resolving a patent infringement lawsuit, but are instead using their litigations around the world as "a business strategy that appears to have no end."

Referring to the "parties' obstreperous and cantankerous conduct," Judge Robert N. Scola of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, described it as not a proper use of the court.

Google sued by Streetmap
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, April 12 2013 @ 06:15 AM EDT
Clicky.

I've used Streetmap.co.uk for years, and unlike Google, it provides Ordnance Survey-like detail and symbols, as well as a wide choice of standard co-ordinate methods. In short, although I love Google's use of photography, for actual mapping I much prefer Streetmap.

It will be a real shame to stop using Streetmap now they've jumped on this bandwagon.

It's also a shame that nobody in the article, including Google's reps as quoted, questioned the accusation of rank manipulation. Google normally denies any such manipulation, and so far I tend to believe them - the SEO industry notwithstanding.
