Just letting the mind wander here, I've got a fan on my CPU
which is controlled via jiggery-pokery from a thermal sensor
on the chip. If I want to warm up the room on a frosty morning
I can just set some video rendering.

So if I apply for a patent for this "method of heating a room"
which are my important/independent claims, the cpu/fan hardware
or the jiggery-pokery (or sacré bleu, the video rendering) ?

This is where Diehr went into the swamp, the two were inextricable.
And ever since everyone else has followed them, pretending the same
when it ain't necessarily so.
