what about warrants to inspect cellphone contents?
Authored by: mcinsand on Wednesday, March 27 2013 @ 01:10 PM EDT
The way we keep so much of our lives in our phones now, a warrant seems like it
would certainly be required for the authorities to inspeat the contents of our
phones. These aren't the same phones of ten years ago that might only list
recently-dialed numbers (which in itself should require a warrant, in my book).
Most of keep huge chunks of our personal information on our phones.

Is a warrant required for a cellphone handover and rubber-glove examination?

Regards,
mc

concerning 4th Amendment issues and cloud computing, but the background
information is quite appropriate here.
