I have a (DAD) Diabetic Alert Dog. Shetland Sheepdog
small dog...long nose.
He can smell the release of the
hormone
adrenalin from across the house. A
diabetic releases this
hormone because it is the fight or flight hormone. Your
brain knows your muscles will need sugar in your moment of
decision. In a
diabetic the brain releases it to raise blood
sugar to keep one from slipping
into a coma. The diabetic
body will also release the starch glycogen from the
liver.
DAD's can pick that up too. Some dogs are being trained to
smell out
skin cancer others ovarian cancer, and a certified
bloodhound is the only dog
that can actually yield testimony
on the record in a US court of
law.
So even from 1/2 mile away if you are growing (a certain
plant
or manufacturing a certain drug you can be found). The
only way to stop this is
to hermetically seal the room.
Industrial carbon filters for all air leaving
your home.
Sealed entrances and windows not covered with plastic and
duct
tape, but sealed. Oh and you will have to get rid of
the extra Oxygen produced.
Oh and be sure to shower before
you leave your house every time because the
smell will stay
on your clothes for weeks.

While a dog's brain is only one-tenth the size of a
human
brain, the part that controls smell is 40 times larger than
in humans.
A dog’s sense of smell is about 1,000 to
10,000,000 times more sensitive than a
human’s (depending on
the breed). A human has about 5 million scent glands,
compared to a dog, who has anywhere from 125 million to 300
million (depending
on the breed). Ever wonder why your dog's
nose is wet? The mucus on a dog's
nose actually helps it
smell by capturing scent particles. When a dog’s nose is
dry
they may lick it to aid them in scent.
