US to release Aaron Swartz papers
Authored by: LuYu on Tuesday, April 02 2013 @ 12:05 PM EDT

I think it is terrible that while these people are scurrying like rats to hide after the light of day has been directed upon their witch hunt, no one in the court system seems to be attempting to hold them accountable for their actions. JSTOR is still trying to pretend it has no culpability in this matter, but I for one am not buying that argument. Let's hope they are exposed and that their neighbors refuse to speak to them and treat them like the cruel, vindictive people that they are and shun them.

The Prenda paralegal took the fifth
Authored by: artp on Tuesday, April 02 2013 @ 06:10 PM EDT

I found this very odd, and so did the first comment in the article on Popehat: Prenda Law's Attorneys Take The Fifth Rather Than Answer Judge Wright's Questions.

A paralegal would normally be an employee, not a partner or someone else with a major stake in the company. If the ship goes down, there is always another one coming into port soon.

It really makes me wonder why she cast her lot with a bunch that are obviously going down the drain. She may never work as a paralegal again. Those are pretty drastic consequences.

I know that there is often pressure to cross the line at work. The only explanation I can see is that she was somehow convinced to cross that line and now stands in jeopardy of the law. I hope, for her sake, that I am wrong.
