... pretty painful to look at!

Teletubies on top of Metro?

Ouch! To quote Costello:

    It's in my eyes....

Laughter Helps

Ok... deeper in the articles we find this gem:

Blue is optimized for power efficiency. ...when sleeping an ultrabook would remain connected to Internet-based apps such as email and social networks, so it remains constantly up to date.
Constantly sending out queries for updates? Doesn't sound very power efficient to me.

Makes my arms tired.

Just thinking about using a touch-screen that size. MS really needs to go back
to usability testing, but I suspect the bling (or is it Bing) is more important
to their marketing.

Hey, language please
Authored by: cjk fossman on Tuesday, March 26 2013 @ 10:35 PM EDT

From the PJ's comments policy:

No foul language or links to porn or other such things. That includes initials and ****s. I can figure it out, and it is no different in effect therefore. I just really don't enjoy reading that day after day. So if you would humor me, I'd be very grateful.

A lot of us appreciate the atmosphere PJ has managed to achieve here. Please don't mess it up.

Leaked Windows Blue
Authored by: Ian Al on Wednesday, March 27 2013 @ 02:39 AM EDT
A couple of my friends want a new computer and are locked in to Windows programs
(audio music production and publishing). They already know not to buy Windows 8
without my advice.

I spotted an article about a leak of an alpha version of the Windows Blue
release and so I checked to see if the desktop mode had reverted to multiple
overlapping windows and a start button.

All of the 'improvements' are for the new Teletubbies interface. So far it seems
that Microsoft don't plan to make Windows Blue of use to computer users.

Yow....

"Metro is a new programming model that will lock organizations into the
next generation of Windows."

Well, at least they're up-front about the intent. Fortunately, organisations
are not sucking down the kool-aid quite as fast as they'd hoped.

Has anyone actually watched a Teletubbies show?
Authored by: albert on Wednesday, March 27 2013 @ 01:18 PM EDT
There's something disturbing about Teletubbies programs. Yes, I know they're for
1-4 year olds. Teletubbies and Windows 8 is brilliant. MS should use them in
their advertising. Eh-Oh!
