very new/young and incredibly incomplete in my humble opinion.
I don't
have a problem with the scientists performing their experiments in laboratory
conditions.
My primary problem is that we as a species is involved in the
experimentation. As a result, we should quite clearly understand and have the
choice of whether or not to participate.
When it comes to replacing a
gene in a particular dna strand with another gene - I'd really rather not be
part of that experiment. When the tech/knowledge is a few hundred years old so
we can understand the full impact - such as what the changes might do to the
human genome itself over a couple generations of regular/constant use - then
it'll no longer be an experimentation.
Do I even have that choice if
Monsanto's seeds have taken over 90+% of their respective markets?
