Witness an example somebody actually pointed out about their own invention here
on Groklaw!

The application was rejected. When the applicants dug into *why* the application
was rejected, they finally got the Patent Clerk to say "there's plenty of
prior art for making these liquids".

"Read the application - we're not making a liquid, we're making a
solid!"

Oooppsss said the patent clerk - patent granted.

The USPTO does make mistakes, and it sounds like some of those mistakes include
not actually reading and understanding the application!
