"Free" software is going to cost something

Same thing that we've been doing for the last 22 years: Run a Free Linux
distibution.

between Canonical's invisible walking in your footsteps, and
Google/Android's in yer face ads on "free" apps.
If I use a delivery service from Amazon or Youku, then
I'm not surprised they offer me "You might like this".
I don't expect my basic OS to do that, or is this
the depth of integration we must come to fear?

I would happily pay money for a Linux distibution that was as capable as Ubuntu
10.04, Ubuntu's high-water mark.

What I want is the FREEDOM. Paying a fee to help support the distro doesn't
bother me.

Spying on users, does.

Ubuntu is dead to me now. Shuttleworth just doesn't get it. RMS is correct.
