RMS does not shoot from the hip

I actually agree he does not "shoot from the hip." He is very
consistent in what he says and does and a lot of people admire him for that. But
he's also very sure he's right, and he doesn't like software or software authors
who don't confirm to his view of what's right. Personally I do not have the
problems he has with software that is "free as in beer" (BSD, Apache
etc.) or even with closed-source software, which 90%+ of computer users use
every day. There are far worse abuses of our rights than software that doesn't
have a GNU or compatible license.
