C-SPAN
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, March 19 2013 @ 03:39 PM EDT
C-SPAN indeed has a fine collection of House Committee hearings,
some even newer than this one, but this one is not there, yet?
For the squeamish c-span videos appear to be Flash formatted.
My desktop machine played that because I have loaded it with
all manner of widgets.

My Android handset which happily plays Youtube (and I have not
intentionally loaded any version of Flash) gave me for one c-span
video a warning that Flash 10.0.0 or higher was needed with a link
Upgrade Now. For another c-span video there was no warning,
nothing happened except the blue wave surged briefly at the left
of screen when I tried to play it.

My iOS 6.1 iPod Touch, which also happily plays YouTube,
was much slower at loading c-span pages, and two random
videos sat on the poster frame with the loading wheel spinning
forever. A difference was that the iOS device offered, way at
the bottom of the page, that I should install their app to -listen-
to live broadcasts.

You see there was a reason Ma Bell allowed only one kind of
phone to connect to their wires ...
