Well, I am running Linux Mint and have the Medibuntu added to my repository and
I just clicked the button and started viewing the video. No muss, no fuss.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I guess if you search long enough you can come up with an
excuse of why someone
is incapable of doing something. In
this case though, the excuse that a person
cant view the
video in question by just clicking on a link, is not based
in
reality.

The excuse that someone has to
be a tech genius isnt founded
in reality either. In the screenshot you see
Firefox, a
common web browser installed on almost all Linux
distributions or
easily installed by a person of normal
intelligence. The key may be that the
mplayer browser plugin
is also installed. While this may not be installed on
most
distros it is available in a wide variety of them. Perhaps
you should
complain to the people who package applications
for your distro if it isnt a
default package.
I think its a shame that someone would use the excuse that
some people are just to stupid so we should make everything
work like a 6 year
old was using the computer. The problem
in that case may be
pebcac or it might be
ignorance. Ignorance is fixable with knowledge and
information. Like a browser plugin needs to be installed
But then again I
come from a generation on who's first
computer the command
prompt was all
there was, no gui. A computer was something
to build with and
discover new
things. Perhaps thats why I like a distro
that just tries
to keep things simple. Its also possible that you need
to
read this
page that someone
once shared with me.
