A false premise should never be used to prove a point.
Authored by: Kilz on Monday, March 18 2013 @ 12:37 AM EDT
PJ may have had a problem viewing the file. I dont doubt
that.
But regardless of the format used its possible that
"someone" in the public will not be able to view the file if
they do not have the correct software installed. An example
would be a Windows XP user saying they were locked out
because they could not open a .odt file without an office
application that can open it installed.
What happened was, an event that happened to one person, was
used to prove a false premise. That the format used was one
that would exclude people based on the operating system they
used. This has been proven to be not the case. In fact its
been proven that if the correct, widely available software
was installed it is possible to see the video.
We get nowhere setting up situations that are easily proven
false to prove a point. It can make us look incompetent even
if the concept behind the reasoning is a good one.
