I have had many people tell me this right before the deputy gives them their
trespassing ticket. People really want to believe it. They will argue that it
has to be true. I know of no place where property HAS to be posted before
trespassing is illegal. It certainly doesn't apply in Iowa.

Since ignorance of the law is no excuse, you really want to make sure what the
law says in your jurisdiction before acting on hearsay. Trespassing around here
is a $90 ticket, and the judge doesn't care where you thought you were.
