There are some spots in the UK where they used to hide cameras behind bridges
and foliage.

Now they have to put up big warning signs for cameras.

The strange thing is that the big displays that show you how fast you're going
(in green if you're under the limit, red if you're over) seem to be more
effective than cameras. Though that implies that people don't actually look at
the speedometer on their dash, instead they just drive at whatever speed
"feels right" for the area.

Maybe we can get some facial recognition cameras set up in all major cities that
send you tickets for jaywalking.

Or maybe just track license plates all over cities checking the times between
each captured moment.. This way they can send you tickets if you make it across
town faster than would be legal.

You can probably tell that I'm not a fan of speed cameras. Personally I would
prefer the simple, low tech solution of speed triggered red lights. You drive
too fast, it triggers the light to turn red. These lights are so much more
effective at forcing cars to obey the speed limits in sections of road that have
a history of wrecks/deaths or even a history of wreckless driving.

The police should get rid of big brother tactics and solve the real problem.
