Dow at record high -- not Microsoft
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, March 12 2013 @ 12:41 PM EDT
The Dow is not really an average. It is just the sum of
the stock prices of a fixed list of companies. I have no
idea how they choose the companies, but I believe that they
will change out a consistantly poor performer for one doing
much better.

I don't do stocks, but I sort of pay attention to it because
it is interesting to see how high the bubble will rise
before it pops. The trick I believe is to sell before it
happens. If you are not the greedy type, it will probably make you more money
than the casino. But then you have to
have the money to invest as well being able to loose,
which I believe most americans do not have.

Apple vs Google
Authored by: betajet on Tuesday, March 12 2013 @ 01:53 PM EDT
Some SF Bay Area papers have an article today about recent trends in Apple versus Google stock price.

Apple vs. Google: Why Wall Street has turned from one to the other

My opinion: Apple used to be the "cool" company. It's not "cool" to spend your time and resources suing other companies. So Apple is no longer "cool".
