People who are motivated are the best learners. People who
are self motivated are even better.

It's a great story.

The students were motivated because they knew they _needed_ math. They were
also motivated by knowing that an adult educator was in the same position, that
is, needing to study math. Teachers can motivate students in various ways, but
for me, the prime factor was the teachers interest in the subject. The finest
teachers in my school experience were those who were passionate about their
field. Their passion made them advocates for their chosen subject. Children
don't have to be brilliant in order to see those teachers who are just putting
in their time. Teachers don't have to be brilliant to show passion for
teaching.
