I bought a Dell Inspiron about 4 years ago pre-installed with Ubuntu - but it
wasn't advertised very well on their site - you had to know it was there to be
able to search/find it.
And at one time there was a dedicated Dell site for laptops running GNU/Linux,
but as now most distro's work on laptops 'out of the box', I do not know if it
is still around.
It is still a brilliant laptop.

Not all features are available in all editions
of Windows 8.
Systems may require upgraded and/or
separately purchased hardware to take full
advantage of
Windows 8 functionality.
I put one in the shopping
basket to look at the
options. HP did not give me options to buy
anti-virus
software and Microsoft Office with my
new Linux box, unlike Dell. Does this
mean HP have
more brains than Dell, or that they could not get
the anti-virus
software to install with Wine?
