The desire is for the government to remove the recently
imposed limits on what a cell phone owner can do with his or
her phone.

It's nice to see this administration on the side of the media
consumer for once, but cynicism compels me to wonder what is
motivating this IP bedazzled bunch.

"Sell" means you don't own it anymore. Somebody else owns it now. You
don't have any say in what they do with it.

There used to be case law that was very clear on this. Unfortunately, it has
been eroded badly over the years.

The government has had some say on how products are marketed and sold for
decades. Amongh the applicable portions of law, antitrust has a lot to say.
