How come FM doesn't get credit for saying whatever, despite the fact that the
entire legal world disagrees with HIM?
But then, maybe he implements the Omar Khayyam approach: "take the cash,
and let the credit go."[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Except Groklaw has a record of being right. FM
does not, so it surely can't be correct to say
that both are the same.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

PJ has an excellent record of presenting all the relevant facts. She has a very
good record for interpreting those facts.
FM has the habit of presenting irrelevant facts and drawing incorrect
conclusions based on those irrelevant facts.
He sometimes claims that the law says what it does not actually say by quoting
the law and cases out of context.
I feel quite safe reviewing the facts that PJ places in front of me and then
testing her conclusions for myself. I feel no need to look elsewhere.
I look elsewhere to other reporter's efforts because they are influencing the
opinion of those not as well informed by PJ as am I. Every now and then, a
lawyer blog will shed even more light on the facts than PJ. I still have PJ's
facts to test what they say as best as I can.
If you are in a hurry for the facts you can, in my view, safely depend just on
Groklaw.

No, but seriously, you should, right or wrong.
You should collect
all your information from a variety of sources then make up
your own mind.
Blind
dependence on Groklaw is no better fundamentally than blind
dependence
on FlorianM.
By all means, weight your information (such as
trust GL 95%
and FM
0.02%) but don't discount other sources
entirely.
I 100% agree with you in principal No matter what
the
topic, I always try to
read as many sources as possible to ensure I
understand the
position of all
sides.
Where I depart from your statement
is the weighting. If I'm
reading a news
story about war, or politics or
terrorism, I would put
roughly equal weightings
for all sources, because
everyone is biased. The
difference is that PJ
tells us her position,
but then gives us all the facts.
I've never seen her
wrong in any material
manner.
FM on the other hand is 100% biased (bought) and
generally 100 %
wrong.
I would therefore believe PJ way before I'd believe FM. ---

FM is actually a fairly reliable source, if you assume that he is 180 degrees
outof phase with reality and adjust what you take from his articles
accordingly. However, there is still the problem of how visiting his stuff
increases hitcounts, which helps him in getting people to fund his
propaganda.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
