Help me pick a tablet for my wife!
Authored by: hardmath on Tuesday, February 26 2013 @ 12:22 PM EST

She thinks she'd like a tablet computer. She's familiar with the iPad my daughter has had for a good bit, but I think my wife needs something a bit closer to a laptop.

Leaving MS Surface aside (for good cause), what are the recommendations, Grokcolleagues? Amazon's basic Kindle models are not very good for navigating the Internet, but I'm not real acquainted with their higher-end models, or with the Barnes and Noble Nook/Nook Color models. Maybe a Google Nexus tablet?

My question of the day (for all you gurus):

Copyright maximalists, and especially copyright trolls, would like the courts to
allow them to be able to demand that ISPs give them name, address etc. of IP
addresses.

How does/will a more prevalent IPV6 addressing system versus the present IPV4
addressing system bode for the exactitude or inexactitude of tying an address to
a person and/or their devices?

Bonus question: Are Telcos providing cellular data plans effectively ISPs if I
use a webmail account using a browser?
