Trying to determine definitions
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, February 25 2013 @ 11:27 PM EST
How do you decide which words need to be defined? I have a few patents under my
belt but I wouldn't if I had to provide definitions for words like
"one" or "plurality" or "the".

The words are meant to be obvious to those skilled in the art, not to a monkey
who doesn't understand English :-)

Especially as it's the inventor's invention that the Constitution wants to protect

A patent lawyer making the patent definition of the inventor's invention much
broader than the actual invention, has no part in the Constitution's stated aim.

Software Patents: It's the disclosed functions in the patent, stupid!
