Which war are you talking about. There have been more than one, you know? :-)

It's an interesting view. Do you really think the Third Reich could have been
overcome by the remains of Britain + the USSR if the US had not entered the fray
in 1941? I'm not sure I agree, but I'm not a military historian, so I can't
really argue the point effectively. *Shrug*

WWII was NOT on the downward spiral in 1941.

It may be argued that it was inevitable that Germany were
going to lose anyway in the long term because of the scale of
those allied against it and having opened too many fronts;
but it would have taken many many years, and a lot can change
in that long time - such a new alliances and countries giving
up.
