Their hipocracy is too easy
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, March 01 2013 @ 11:48 AM EST
"There must be instances where Microsoft or Oracle themselves use somebody
else's API. We need to identify those instances if we can and point out the
hypocrisy."

Easy:

C
C++
POSIX
(All programming languages have a standard API)

TCP
UDP
IP
(Protocols are just APIs accessed over a network)

HTML
XML
(Document formats are just APIs for databases)

This is such an easy thing to do that it's pretty much a non-issue.

"These companies need to know what they are attempting to accomplish is unacceptable behaviour!"

They already know that. But, they are so greedy and selfish
that they do not care. They have cancer and are rotting
from the inside out. They cannot compete on level playing
fields so they have to try to destroy whatever is better and
is more good them themselves. If they see that you have
two apples and they have only have one, they will smash
your two apples rather than get more for themselves. That
is what happens when you have greedy, spoiled megalomaniacs
running companies. They cannot accept being anywhere but
in first place and will do ANYTHING EXCEPT COMPETE to get
there because if they compete, they just might lose.
