Eventually humans will adapt to GM plants by evolving into a more GM hardy
species. Only the weak will perish.
So, if the GM food allergic people would rather die than eat GM food, then let
them die and decrease the surplus population.
A humbug on GM food abhorrent people.
However, while on the subject, I did notice something. The lawyers and court
were very careful to limit the proper terms here. Referring to natural
reproduction as self-replicating technologies.
It should be noted that crossing plants also genetically modifies the resulting
plant and seed. No one mentions that.
I have also done my share of genetic modification. I have a child who is a cross
between my genetic structure and that of the child's mother. An entirely new
genetic technology, that is not genetically the same as any other human on the
planet.
This is what happens when you patent nature and life. What will happen to people
who have genetic gene therapy? Will they forfeit any chance of being able to
legally reproduce without obtaining a patent license from the patent owner to do
so?
Not that I don't think there are some people who should not be allowed to
reproduce, but that's a slippery slope. I think Hitler wanted to do something
along those lines.
Lastly, what about the failure to mark? Has Monsanto required the farmers to
lark the seeds somehow, so people don't accidentally buy patented seeds and
plant them? This seems to be Monsanto's failure to mark problem, and not the
farmers buying crop seed. Seems to me that Monsanto has gone after the wrong
farmers, or failed to enforce marking of the patented "technology".
