"Interoperability means that programs written for Android
would run on the Java platform and vice versa."

Their definition of interoperability seems to mean that only clones can
interoperate, and therefore, all interoperability is infringing.

I have an air compressor. I also have a paint sprayer. Although they do two
completely different things, they interoperate, via an API known as a pneumatic
coupler on an air hose. Connecting the two with the coupler does not mean that
the air compressor can spray paint, or that the paint sprayer can compress air.
It simply means the two can work together while each does what it does.
