The "constitution-free" zone, large as it appears, was also
significantly
smaller than I expected. It discounts the idea that international airports
provide additional origins for 100-mile exclusion zones. If that were the
case, I suspect there is not much of the nation left where the 4th amendment
applies. As it is, it appears a whopping 33% of US citizens may retain these
rights - as long they do not travel into the twilight zones.
the 100-mile border from the coast seems odd to me, as from an
international law perspective, I thought the border would start at the 200-
mile maritime exclusion zone, and rarely make landfall. Luckily, I am not a
lawyer, so no-one is likely to rely on any poor legal advice or interpretations
I
write - or at the least they would be very ill advised if they did.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
