And add to all this that no two computers are likely to get
"reconfigured" in the same way, since the "changes" of which
bits are operating depends on various factors, including what else is running on
the machine, what peripherals are installed, how recently it was rebooted
(especially a Windows machine), and other things (time of day, value of
"random number generator" [well...], etc.

In the days of 'flow-charting and dry running' it was normal to test the program
by hand processing test data against the instructions. We found a lot of bugs
and prevented big time failures that way. Ergo:- the computer is just a tool to
