experimental partition versus stable
Authored by: Wol on Monday, February 04 2013 @ 05:22 PM EST
My setup ...

Old PC - gentoo as an x-terminal, SuSE for backup.

New PC - gentoo only, though I'm thinking of adding SuSE, having temporarily
corrupted the system last weekend - it updated udev and the kernel didn't have
the right flags set so boot failed. And I couldn't go back to an older kernel
because they had the same problem. I had to boot from CD, chroot into my gentoo
partition and rebuild the kernel. Then it all came back hunky-dory

Cheers,
Wol

experimental partition versus stable

answers:
1) My present workhorse partition is running Xubuntu version of Ubuntu.
2) My play/experimental is at the moment Mint Linux but it has recently been
Fedora, WattOS R4,Wary Puppy Linux.

All my saves are in another separate partition called My Stuff. I acess My
Stuff by having s fstab entry in each operating system.
