Yes, Death of the NetBook. Those stores are clearing old stock,
as they are round my way. Tablets are the new "thing".
I've got an Asus A150 Hackintosh which I much prefer over
a phone for web and mail while travelling, but I'm an old
fogey who was brought up on keyboard and useful size screen.
Such is the strength of the Redmond Force Field that a number
of useful apps refuse to install, "You need 1024x768 minimum",
and some that do install have no way to shrink the home screen
smaller than SVGA.
I'd like to do first stage movie editing in the field, but I don't
see an Android app as good as iMovie, and there's no way
(without an intermediary 'puter) to get movies from camera
to iPad. So I use a netbook, painfully slow, thanks Bill :(
