Sounds to me like they asked mum when dad wasn't around. And mum didn't mention
it to dad.

Only way they can both be telling the truth. Whether you believe that or not is
a different issue.

Now the big question is did they ever ask for Linux?

I cannot help but wonder if they ever had any problems with
their computers. Also, I do find it hard to believe that
they never wanted to get an i-something just to be like their
friends. As an aside, from my experience as a parent and
grandparent, children who do not live normal childhood lives
do not grow up living normal adult lives.
