What you had BT?
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, January 28 2013 @ 05:43 PM EST
My sympathies. I have not touched anything by them for more than 20 years.
Before that it was because I had to use BT stuff.

Yes, AT&T phones work in the rest of the world
Authored by: jjs on Monday, January 28 2013 @ 05:58 PM EST
Need a country-specific SIM. At least those that are quad-
band (I would have to check, but I suspect most are).

Actually, you can purchase their Global Roaming Plan, but
that's much more expensive than grabbing a native SIM.

(Note IANAL, I don't play one on TV, etc, consult a practicing attorney, etc,
etc)

More than one way to unlock a phone
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, January 29 2013 @ 05:41 PM EST
Most phones can be unlocked without the co-operation of the carrier. Doing that
is perfectly legal in all free countries, only in totalitarian states do
bureaucracies prevent you using what you own as you wish :)
