I was just cleaning up some of my old machines. Amongst them was an Ubuntu 8*
which happily updated to 12.04, and with Xubuntu seems snappy and a SuSE 7.3
which I left as is since it was a dual Pentium Pro 200 and has no need to go
online. I tried the same with the Windows 98 machine, and it's now running
Ubuntu 12.04 since the Microsoft update page just redirects between pages
without actually loading. Not sure if it is because on the IE 4 or because they
have removed the pages. I did find a unofficial page with the windows98
updates all packaged together so these machines can still keep busy offline.
