I am surprised but delighted that she has involved herself in this. The tragedy
is, strictly speaking, nothing to do with the EU, and her job has nothing to do
with EU foreign policy. But if Neelie wants to increase the scope of her
influence, that is fine as far as I am concerned. I do hope that the US
authorities actually take notice of what she is saying. Her ideas about
