Interesting the manufacturer mentioned overload

There was a comment from the manufacturer when this blew stating that exceeding
the battery load specs would be one cause of the problems found.

That's a curious approach.

Lithium chemistry batteries are still below 10% the energy density of
hydrocarbon fuel, so it doesn't make sense to regularly use them for in-flight
power.

Presumably the reason for the battery is as a backup against failure of the
in-flight generators. Typically power comes from high frequency alternators
driven off of the flight engines. APUs, auxiliary generators, were commonly
used on older aircraft which required cable linkages for manual flight control
until the APU was started and providing power.

The battery would have to maintain an emergency reserve capacity, so planning on
using battery power during flight would require installing a battery larger and
heavier than needed to keep that minimum charge.
