Having thought....
Authored by: BJ on Wednesday, January 23 2013 @ 07:59 PM EST
Having thought through some more what I just wrote, the bottomline -- what my
feelings come down to, is the following.

I am from Holland. The US is still a country that 'we' look up to. Some of us
increasingly and more and more frequently ask 'why for God's sake?'

I think it's time the US should re-invent itself.

Instead of the FORCEFUL bearer of some torch (tell me what it is!), become a
guiding light of hope on those fronts such as: justice, human rights, democratic
values.

[And I mean local (to the US) and globally. Since we (the smaller countries)
will follow and imitate like tame sheep, that where out hope for change lies.]

Some twentyfive years ago, the US's opponent on all these fronts was Commnunism,
and the USSR. Today, its opponent, the fiercest one to overcome, in my view, is
... itself.
All the 'followers' have an interest that 'IT CAN'.
