Wayback Machine

That the iPhone was unveiled in January by Steve, so he could get to unveil it
instead of the FCC when it was approved, and that it was put on sale half a year
later isn't really news. It would be news if they actually sold any before the
release date.

Wayback Machine - Jan 9th, 2007 pics of iPhone on apple's site
Authored by: Ady on Thursday, January 24 2013 @ 03:56 AM EST
There is a snapshot of the apple.com home page made on Jan 10th 2007, and that snapshot also mentions the iPhone.
http://we b.archive.org/web/20070110052128/http://www.apple.com/

archive has the first working snapshot of the /iphone page on January 11th, 2007
ht tp://web.archive.org/web/20070715000000*/http://www.apple.com/iphone

bef ore that date the archive.org snapshots show only an error page instead of actual content, however, the image file on that page has an interesting name: "indexhero20070109.jpg" => January 9th, 2007

http://web.archive.org/web/20070111070050im_/htt p://images.apple.com/iphone/images/indexhero20070109.jpg

and the intro text on apple's home page on january 10th also point to an image with a name of January 9th: "iphonetitle20070109.gif"
