That is quite the point

My contract, for example, *used to* forbid tethering.

The newer version says nothing about tethering.

So am I ok to tether my laptop to my phone? Of course I am. Unless I'm not.

Only the jury knows for sure. And they'll just be guessing.

One of the reasons lawyers make such a meal of contracts...
Only things expressly permitted by this contract may be done;
Anything not expressly prohibited by this contract may be done;
If neither of those limits are present, what may be done?
