Unless you have a perpetual motion machine to generate power whilst that laptop
was in the closet it was using up power! No details are given as to whether it
was running; off battery power, had its own power generator or plugged into the
mains; if the last then it was using up power, taking it so that MIT couldn't
use it.

All those unskippable ads incorrectly telling me that copyright infringement is
theft are actually stealing from me: the power to run the DVD player, the
display device and the sound system has been used and is gone never to return,
and I've had to pay for the privilege of receiving the incorrect information!
Hypocrites: stealing from me to tell me that stealing is wrong!
