I wouldn't read too much into that

First, on whether his parents where there supervising: just because they weren't in the clip doesn't mean they weren't. I've seen interviews of children where the parents were off to the side out of screen shot.

Second, it's an incredibly short snip and there's no real context preceding it. The lady asks a question:

Why are you here at the Eldred argument?
And Aaron responded:
    That doesn't make sense!
Before preceding to answer the question as:
I am ... and I'm here to hear the Eldred argument!
Question for you: have you ever been asked a question that didn't make sense to you because of the particular point of view you had when considering the question? You answered, the person refined their question and you realized you had misunderstood?

Have you done that as an adult?

I'm 43 this year. The last time I did that was a week ago.

How's this for a reasonable possibility that might explain Aaron's response:

That doesn't make sense, you asked me why I'm here and then said why: to listen to the Eldred argument!
I can't say why Aaron responded as he did. As I said, that is an incredibly short clip with no real context surrounding it. But I can say:
As an adult, I have made the same mistake in understanding the nature of what I was asked as Aaron did.
Am I wrong to inadvertently misunderstand because the context of my thoughts were different?

Have I misunderstood why you raised this - you raised it as some kind of issue on the part of Aaron or his parents - when it seems to have absolutely no bearing on what is occurring today and has occurred over the last 2 years? When it can never occur again?
