Just because someone perceives you moving faster, doesn't mean you actually
are.
For example, take a canoe. You can paddle at a certain maximum
speed giving you a maximum speed the canoe can travel at.
Find a river
that has a current flow faster then you can paddle. Paddle out in to the
current. Now paddle at half your normal speed.
From the perspective of a
person standing on the bank observing you - you're traveling at a faster rate
then is capable.
The point being:
Just because we do not currently
know of a way to war space/time today and form a protective bubble through which
we could travel at a normal speed - but would appear to be traveling much faster
from an outside perspective - does not mean we won't find a way.
So yea: as
far as your explanation of traveling near the speed of light goes - I agree.
But with everything it leaves out:
The possibilities still allow for
it!
