My point exactly.
There was a time, not long ago, when this kind of
pseudo-analysis piece could have an impact, and
generate sales and buzz. Now, not so much.
The most positive spin I can find on the Windows 8
PC market share is that going from 0.5% to 1.7%
during the holiday shopping season is a more than
200% relative growth. By all sane measures of growth,
having a 1.7% market share three months after launch
of a major Windows version is an utter failure.
The adoption is really slow, and like another poster,
I don't think Windows 8 sales are slow only because
PC sales are slow. I think PC sales are slow partly
because Windows 8 is such a bad product.
Microsoft are blaming the market for a failure of
their product, but if they make a product that nobody
wants, who is to blame? No matter how you look at it,
the failure is theirs.
