Dear Anonymous Coward,

Why? It matters not how wise a person is. Any person can comment on the idiocy
of others, even if that person has less than perfect spelling, speech, grammar
or what have you. The ability to spell or spell check is neither indicative of
intelligence nor wisdom. Or are you implying only people who have a written
language can have wisdom? I would argue many of the Native American tribes had
no written language prior to the Settlement of the invading Europeans, and yet
they had many among them with great wisdom.

Or are you arguing that among those who do have a written language only the wise
spend then necessary time to proofread everything they write to a 100% error
free standard are wise? Whether they are writing for pay or not.

The title caption doesn't do check spelling, while the comment box does, and
simple transpositions in text are easy to miss, when typing or reading. Mistakes
that a person wouldn't make while writing by hand easily slip in as typing speed
increases. In fact simple grammar errors that slip in, such as extra
conjunctions and glue words, which don't add to meaning are also routinely
missed even by a visual spell check. This can be shown quickly by spending time
on any social network, where these types of trick posts frequently make the
rounds. The brain is programmed to auto-correct simple things like this. Only
those few who are paying attention and seeking them out normally see them. Add
to that that it is easy to forget that the title box doesn't spell check, and
hence when visually spell-checking a selection which highlights errors, it is
much more likely to miss a single transposition in the title.

While spell checking a post I rarely check the short blurb in the title, and
generally watch the keyboard as I type, as I never had typing class, and never
committed to memory all the keys on the keyboard. I make many more errors if not
watching the keyboard, and hence can type faster by watching the keyboard. I'm a
visual type of person. Of course there in lie the crux of the problem, timing of
keystrokes as speed increases. But still don't see how simple spell check errors
equate to a level of idiocy. At worst it's an indication of laziness, at best a
less than thorough proofreading. It is not even in the same league as being
unable to draw simple logic conclusions and tests for obviousness.

It has nothing to do with wisdom. I frequently make typos, as does everyone I
know when typing anything of length. you however are in a glass house. I could
point out hundreds or probably even thousands of times you've made typos not
only here on Groklaw but many other places. In fact at times your grasp of the
English language have to come into question, as well as your intellect based on
numerous idiotic posts all over the Internet.

So, yes, I was less than perfect in doing my spell checking. I would only argue
it has zero impact on my wisdom.

Not that I claim to have any great wisdom, simply that I claim I don't do
idiotic things, like: neither try to put, or advocate putting, finger tabs in
soda cartons where it would require driving fingers through sealed, pressurized,
aluminium cans, nor imply that it is not obvious for any person of normal
intelligence to attempt to not do the prior statement.

This cannot be said of most of the educated judges who just ruled on the Zappos
case in the CAFC.
