The linked article is fairly short, and while it attempts to provide help with how to do recommended disabling of Java plugins in browsers, I wasn't able to see how it could be done from the Java Control Panel side of things.

So I disabled the Java plugins from the browser side of things.

This is probably only an issue if you run Windows

While the write-ups don't mention a specific OS, the explanation to safety
yourself mentions Internet Explorer.

What about OpenJDK?

I'm running OpenJDK, not Oracle Java, on my system. Is that affected too?
