Father of the Internet on Tech: 'It Should Just Work'
Authored by: Anonymous on Sunday, January 06 2013 @ 10:18 PM EST
I'll agree with that. People should be warned that what they have purchased
works as intended, but perhaps not as the purchaser expected, and that trying to
change it's properties might produce undesired results.

I tend to view things like this with the observation that gravity "just
works." Whether or not it happens to work in my favor is a relative
matter. :)

Example: If I remove the drivers for my network card, everything still works.
I simply cannot connect to anything on the network until I put the drivers back
in place. That's just the way it works.

The problem with that, is that if you can root the default setup, any thief can
break into the phone. Not necessarily a good idea.

I agree with being easily breakable, but not necessarily so simply.

Cheers,
Wol
