The first meeting in San Jose (Alviso) January 26th and 27th 1994 has it's index available here.

The meetings on February 10th and 1lth, 1994 in Arlington VA can be found here.

The secret to finding them lies in knowing the dates.

From the Public Hearings index:

Public Hearings on Software Patents

In 1994, The PTO held two public hearings on software patent protection; full details are available in the Federal Register Notice.

Hearing transcripts and prepared remarks.

You may browse through the list of presenters by selecting either the Arlington or the San Jose hearings. Alternately, select any of the following links to retrieve the full text of the transcripts.

San Jose hearings transcripts

Arlington Transcripts

Many of the speakers at the public hearings also submitted written prepared comments. An incomplete collection of these comments may be retrieved in ASCII (Unix linefeeds) (520k), compressed ASCII (216k), or GNUzipped ASCII (192k) formats. The full text of the written comments will be available shortly in both browseable and searchable form.

Questions regarding the hearings and future developments regarding this issue can be addressed to Mr. Kushan at kushan@uspto.gov. Technical questions regarding accessing and retrieving files, and other general questions about this site (including suggestions for improvements and other items you'd like to see) should be sent to .

I checked to see I got all the links valid by copying the above into a file with a suffix of .html and using Download Them All. It'd be interesting to know of the Microsoft Office formats could be successfully opened The PDF files are in a nice format, although may be too low a resolution to scan (and are two column).
