But I do change things. I upgrade security at the schools. Your premise that the "guard" doesnt get there, while a possibility, would be rare if we truly secure the schools. What I suggested is at least 1 Police Officer. There could be more, the schools also have to limit access to the outside.

You dont need a firearm to kill 1 kid in a school. You are still stuck in "ban guns" land. We need to stop killing of children not just take the easy way out and do something to make us feel safe.
Even if we take all the guns away (something that is a fantasy in the USA). The children will not be safe if there is no one to stop a killer with any one of hundreds of other weapons. Even a hammer could kill a few kids. Shall we ban all hammers next?
